HYANNIS – The National Weather Service cancelled a winter storm watch for Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard Sunday, but kept in place a wind advisory for the region.
Forecasters said the clipper system that was expected to form late Saturday night into Sunday morning will be further east than initially expected, prompting the elimination of the storm watch.
The amount of snow expected for the Cape was also reduced from 3 to 6 inches to just an inch or 2 in some locations.
Winds are still expected to be gusty, out of the northeast at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.
Temperatures will moderate on Monday, the first day of spring.
