Winter Weather Advisory in Effect; 2-4 Inches of Snow Likely

HYANNIS – A late February storm is expected to bring a couple inches of snow to the Cape and Islands.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 7 p.m. Wednesday night until 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

The snow is expected to begin falling around 8 p.m. and continue through the overnight hours, accumulating 2 to 4 inches.

Locally higher amounts are possible mainly along and north of the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Forecasters said motorists should expect slippery roads with hazardous conditions potentially impacting the evening and morning commute.

The latest storm is not expected to cause any flooding or wind damage.

The snow should taper off early Thursday morning.
