Wolf Endorses Forest for County Commissioner

KA_Mark Forest Democratic Kickoff_031316_064HARWICH – Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf has endorsed Mark Forest for Barnstable County Commission.

In a statement, Wolf called Forest the right person to advocate for the Cape in the face of environmental and economic challenges. Wolf cited Forest’s efforts to clean up pollution at the Massachusetts Military Reservation and establish the Upper Cape Water Supply Reserve as major factors for his endorsement, as well as Forest’s work in the Provincetown Town Manager’s office during the redevelopment of MacMillan Wharf.

“When you look at Mark Forest’s track record, each initiative involved vision, consensus building, and a knack for getting results,” Wolf said. “He understands the key issues facing so many segments of our community – from small business, the fishing industry, our seniors human services to affordable housing.

Forest is one of two democrats running for Barnstable County Commission, along with incumbent Mary Pat Flynn. Republicans Ron Beaty and Linda Bond are also running.

Commissioner Sheila Lyons, who unsuccessfully ran to replace the retiring Wolf in the state senate, is not seeking re-election.
