BOURNE – A 46-year-old woman fell into the Cape Cod Canal around 8:30 Wednesday morning in Bourne.
According to Lieutenant Greg Edgcomb of the Bourne Fire Department, the women fell into the canal off of Academy Drive by Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
She was unable to get of the water after falling in and had to be pulled from the water by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Edgcomb said that the unidentified woman spent about 10 minutes in the water before being rescued.
Bourne Rescue Crews transported the victim to Tobey Hospital in Wareham with symptoms of hypothermia.
The fall caused no traumatic injuries.
