Woman Struck By Car in Hyannis Dies

HYANNIS – The woman who was struck by a car in Hyannis last night has died.

According to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office, a person is being arraigned this afternoon in Barnstable District Court on charges that include motor vehicle homicide.

The apparent hit and run happened around 10 p.m. on Pitcher’s Way  at Beth Lane and the victim was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The vehicle reportedly left the scene and was found by police a short time later near Castlewood Circle.

The victim’s boyfriend was treated for minor injuries.

The names of the victim and the person being charged have not yet been released.
