WOODS HOLE – The Marine Biological Laboratory in Falmouth will host a discussion on Russia next month featuring a local professor who is considered an expert on Russian science history.
Harvard and MIT Professor Emeritus Loren Graham will present his lecture “Visiting Russia over Half a Century” on Friday, March 2 at the Marine Biological Laboratory Falmouth Forum. Graham is considered a leading authority on contemporary science and technology in Russia, according to event organizers.
The event is free and open to the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Graham has made more than 200 trips to Russia, beginning with his time studying as an exchange student at Moscow University. He received his Ph.D. in History from Columbia University and a Doctor of Letters honoris causa from Purdue University.
Graham is the author of a number of books and articles on the history of Russian Science, including Science and Philosophy in the Soviet Union, which was nominated for a National Book Award.
