Sea Education Assocation to Host Space Station Video Chat

WOODS HOLE – The Woods Hole-based Sea Education Association will host a satellite video downlink event with NASA Astronaut Ricky Arnold next week.

Arnold, a scientist with SEA, is currently conducting research aboard the International Space Station.

The uplink will take place on July 13 at 12 p.m.

At the event, students enrolled in SEA’s high school summer program, SEASCape, will ask Arnold about space, his research, and about life on the space station.

Also attending will be members of the Woods Hole Partnership in Education Program (PEP), and SEA summer interns.

For 45 years and more than one million nautical miles sailed, SEA has educated students about the world’s oceans through its Boston University accredited study abroad program, SEA Semester.

SEA/SEA Semester has two research vessels: the SSV Corwith Cramer, operating in the Atlantic Ocean, and the SSV Robert C. Seamans, operating in the Pacific.
