WOODS HOLE – The Woods Hole Theater Company will be making audiences laugh this month at the Community Hall with its latest performance, Neil Simon’s “Rumors.”
The show is a hilarious farce surrounding bickering, false identity, lies, relationship trials and of course, rumors.
The show opens with Chris and Ken Gorman arriving at the townhouse of the Deputy Mayor, Charlie Brock, to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary and find that he has shot himself.
As three other couples arrive to celebrate, chaos ensues. Charlie’s wife and servants are nowhere to be found and the Gorman’s look to protect Charlie’s reputation while trying to find out what happened.
The evening spins out of control with mass confusion, lies and rumors.
The production is directed by Corinne Cameron and produced by Pat Farrell, both of East Falmouth.
The show’s run began on Thursday and remaining evening performances will be held October 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. Afternoon shows will be held at 2 p.m. on October 16 and 22.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at woodsholetheater.org.
The box office will open 90 minutes before each performance and walk-ins will be seated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
