Yarmouth Awarded $10K Grant from the State

KA_Yarmouth_Town Hall_04_120215YARMOUTH – The town of Yarmouth has received a $10,000 grant from the state for being accepted into the Community Compact program.

The Network Infrastructure Assessment grant was awarded after the town agreed to implement best practices in transparency and business continuity over a two-year period.

The grant money will be used to develop an open data strategy to make municipal spending and budget information available at the town’s website.

Yarmouth will also develop a disaster recovery and backup plan for critical municipal systems. A plan will also be developed to transfer paper documents to an electronic format.

Yarmouth was accepted into the program in January.

An award ceremony, which will be attended by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito, will be held May 19 at Town Hall at 12:30 p.m.
