YARMOUTH – With another nice weekend underway, local officials are reminding those out on the water to stay safe.

Yarmouth harbormaster Karl Von Hone is stressing boaters in particular to keep an eye out for kayakers, paddleboarders, or anybody else in manual powered vessels.

Von Hone also reminds boaters to watch their speed and obey wake regulations at all times.

“Being very vigilant about watching wave conditions, wind conditions and watching their speed is very important,” he said.

Von Hone also asks boaters to be extra aware of people out on the water in non-powered vessels, such as kayakers or paddleboarders.
