Yarmouth Liquor Store Reports Intoxicated Customer

Yarmouth PoliceYARMOUTH – Scott Weichel and John Pomeroy of Luke’s Liquors of West Yarmouth called the Yarmouth Police Department recently when they discovered that a customer was severely intoxicated while purchasing liquor.

The liquor sale was stopped and employees called police, according to Yarmouth Police Deputy Chief Steven Xiarhos.

“The customer was found passed out and was placed in protective custody and is now in rehabilitation,” Xiarhos said.

The entire incident was captured on store surveillance video and the employees met with members of the Yarmouth Police Department Command Staff to review what occurred.

“Alcoholism is a serious issue in the United States, including here on Cape Cod,” Xiarhos said.
