Yarmouth Moose Lodge to Host Youth Awareness Congress

YARMOUTH – About 60 high school students from around the country will visit Cape Cod Sunday as the representatives of the Moose Youth Awareness Congress.

The group will be celebrating the impact it has had on the lives of preschool and elementary school-aged children at the Moose Family Center of Yarmouth.

For the past 30 years, the Moose fraternity has organized high school students into a speakers’ bureau with the goal of educating younger children on several topics, including drug and alcohol abuse, child abuse, “stranger danger,” bullying and peer pressure, and healthy habits and nutrition.

Yarmouth is one of several locations throughout the state the Congress will be visiting. At the conclusion of the International Moose Youth Awareness Congress, five students will be selected to receive scholarships totaling $30,000.

The Moose fraternity is an international organization of Men and Women dedicated to caring for the young and old, bringing communities closer together and celebrating life. The organization has over 1,600 Lodges across North America.
