Yarmouth Police and school officials investigate bomb threat

YARMOUTH – On Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:50AM, a student at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School found a note indicating that a threat.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Officials and Yarmouth and Dennis Police School Resource Officers assigned to the school worked closely with Yarmouth Police Detectives and Patrol Officers to investigate the threat.

As a cautionary procedure, school officials decided to conduct an early dismissal and school was ended at 1:30PM and all after school activities were postponed.

Massachusetts Law is very clear and powerful regarding making threats like this one.  Anyone convicted of this crime can face up to 20 years in state prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

The Yarmouth Police Department has seized the note as evidence and is actively pursuing this felony crime. Anyone with information is urged to immediately contact Yarmouth Police School Resource Officer Nicholas Pasquarosa—who is stationed full-time at the D-Y Police Services Office at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School—at 508.398.7653.
