Yarmouth Police Arrest Alleged Heroin Dealer

YARMOUTH – A West Yarmouth man was arrested Friday at the Yankee Village Hotel after police officers executing a search warrant allegedly found drugs in his hotel room.

Yarmouth Police Department Drug Enforcement Detective Christopher A. Kent obtained a search warrant for room 202 at the Yankee Village Motel 275 Route 28 in West Yarmouth.

The search warrant authorized officers to search for heroin and evidence related to the distribution of heroin.

At approximately 5:50AM Friday morning, members of the Yarmouth Police Department, the Barnstable Police Department, and a Mashpee Police Department K-9 Unit executed the search warrant and located Ryan McKenna, 22, of West Yarmouth and his girlfriend inside the room.

While conducting the search Mashpee Police Department Detective Mike Assad and his K-9 partner Lola located a clear plastic knotted baggie containing a brown powder like substance believed to be heroin in a back pack.

Lola also found various types of prescription medication identified as Xanax (Alprazolam), Cyclobenzaprine, and Clonidine.

McKenna was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters where he was booked and processed and he is scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court today.

He was charged with one count of possession to distribute drugs and four counts of possession of drugs.
