The sixth annual Community Blood Drive in honor of US Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos will be held at Yarmouth Police Headquarters from noon to 6 p.m.

Xiarhos, a graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, died in combat in 2009 and the blood drive is being conducted in memory of his birthday to support and assist Cape Cod Hospital Blood Donor Services.

All blood collected in the drive will stay on Cape Cod and will be used to treat people in need.

No appointment is required and anyone over the age of 17 in good health and at least 110 pounds can donate.
