Yarmouth Rotary Installs New President, Board

The Rotary Club of Yarmouth formally installed new president Kevin Lennon, officers and board of directors for the 2018-2019 club year earlier this summer.

The group also reflected on their accomplishments for the year and presented a series of awards to members for individual achievements and service to the community.

Lennon challenged the members to keep the momentum and ‘Be the Inspiration’ in the community as the club looks to grow service activities and membership.

Quoting Rotary International President Elect Barry Rassin, Lennon said, “You must lead your members, be the inspiration to continue to be the leaders in the community through work with a transformational impact. What we do as an organization matters…What we do matters.” 

The following 2018- 19 Board of Directors were installed:

  • President Elect- Gerald “Curley” Carey
  • Vice President- John Cooke
  • Secretary- Rafi Chaprut
  • Treasurer- Liam Butler
  • Club Administrative Director- Jill Albright
  • Community Service Director- Mike Karras
  • International Director- Roby Whitehouse
  • Public Image Director- Allison McEachern
  • Vocational Service Director- Mary Vilbon
  • New Generations Director- Ann Knell

The night also included honors given to members for their service:

  • The President’s Service Award to John Gilligan, Jim Saben and Mike Riley;
  • The Service Above Self Award to Gerald “Curly” Carey;
  • The Spirit of Service Award of Excellence to District Governor Elect Steve Albright;
  • Rotarian of the Year to Tom Martin;
  • Foundation Director and District Governor Elect Steve Albright awarded a Paul Harris plus 1 Award to his wife, Jill Albright.
