YMCA Cape Cod Offers ‘Livestrong’ Retreat for Cancer Survivors

SANDWICH – YMCA Cape Cod in partnership with Cape Cod Healthcare are gearing up for their first-ever ‘Livestrong’ event, for those suffering with, or recovering from, cancer.

Participants will have the opportunity to relax, have fun, and enjoy themselves by taking part in guided mediations, listening to musical entertainment, joining in on guided walks, and even practicing yoga.

The getaway will also include meals, a lobster bake, and accommodations if participants wish to stay in shared rustic cabins.

The retreat is free of charge to all Cape residents who have battled cancer.

Caregivers, regardless of participation in the Livestrong® program or with the YMCA are also invited to join the retreat.

For non-Cape Cod residents, the cost will be set at $100 for the weekend and $150 for caregivers.

Registration for the event can be made by calling 508-362-6500 ext. 130.

Festivities kick off at the YMCA’s Retreat at Camp Lyndon in Sandwich, from September 14th through the 16th.
