Your Columbus Day Fishing Forecast

The striper fishing has been good on the South Side of Cape Cod, with big numbers of fish between 23 and 32 inches. Live eels, swim shads, and minnow plugs are working best. The Canal is also producing stripers up to 30 pounds on paddle-tail jigs in the morning hours.
Big bluefish are being caught on chunked bunker on the South Side Beaches. East Beach on Martha’s vineyard is also producing blues from 12 to 14 pounds.  Big blues have also been roaming around lower Cape Cod Bay, striking popping plugs.
Albie fishing is good in Edgartown Harbor.  The fish have been finicky on calm days, but when there is some chop on the water, the albies feed with abandon.
Bluefin tuna fishing is great off the Outer Cape. The fish are striking live baits and jigs such as the RonZ.
