Yarmouth Police Stress Need For Neighborhood Crime Watch

YARMOUTH-  The Yarmouth Police Department held their ‘Yarmouth Neighborhoods Crime Watch Block Captain’s Meeting’ Wednesday, which included guest speaker, and School Resource Officer, Nicholas Pasquarosa along with YPD Chief Frank Frederickson.

Pasquarosa spoke to the crowd about school safety in the wake of recent school shootings, while Frederickson provided updates on YPD as a whole.

“Security has to be an approach of personnel, procedures, and hardware,” explained Pasquarosa.

“I’d like them to know that we’ve worked very hard to make the school safe and do everything as humanly possible to protect the students and the staff [in all Yarmouth schools].”

“Our security program is comprehensive… it’s all locked together, the equipment, the personnel, the procedures, and we are continually working on improving all of those aspects of security,” said Pasquarosa.

The meeting also included materials on the town’s neighborhood crime watch program, and how Yarmouth residents could start a block watch group in their neighborhood if they didn’t already have one.

The event took place at the Yarmouth Senior Center on Forest Road in South Yarmouth.
