We all know that Christmas is the time of giving… But all too often, we overlook giving to the people who need our help the most. This holiday season, Cape Cod Broadcasting Media, Child and Family Services and Mid-Cape Home Centers have reached out to the Cape Cod community to make sure the families in our own neighborhoods do not go without this Christmas. A single mother is working through her own childhood trauma in order to provide a safe and nurturing environment for her three children (age 18, 10, and 5). Mom currently works two jobs and has begun taking classes to become a phlebotomist. Child #3: A 5 year old male is independent and loves to work with his hands. He loves anything Pokémon themed, and would enjoy Play Doh or Kinect Sand. He would also love any kind of picture books to help him start reading. He would love any clothes size (5) or shoes (kids 12). Child #2: A 10 year old female is very creative and helpful. She would love anything to do with arts & crafts, books, or journals to write/draw in. She would also appreciate any pre-teen clothes (size 11-12) or shoes/boots (size 5). Child #1: An 18 year old female is reserved and well-spoken. She would love any kind of beauty products (perfume, lotions, or bath products) or gift cards to clothing stores. She would love to have some air fresheners or decorations for her car. Parent/guardian #1: Mom is determined and loving. She would love gift cards for clothes, groceries, or gas. Mom also loves to read books and would appreciate some new books or journals to write in.
