We all know that Christmas is the time of giving… But all too often, we overlook giving to the people who need our help the most. This holiday season, Cape Cod Broadcasting Media, Child and Family Services and Mid-Cape Home Centers have reached out to the Cape Cod community to make sure the families in our own neighborhoods do not go without this Christmas. An 18 year-old girl with cognitive delays is living with her mother, two brothers, and sister. She currently takes the bus to school and is working toward obtaining her associate's degree, as she dreams of becoming a writer. The family struggles financially as mom is unable to work due to being sick, and they have unreliable transportation because their car continuously breaks down. Her two brothers are working to help out while also trying to support their own children, and her sister is away attending college. This family would greatly appreciate any additional support to help make this a magical holiday season. Child #1: 18 year-old girl needs writing supplies; would love her own TV to not disrupt the rest of the family or a gift card toward purchasing one, as well as a typewriter to be able to write her stories Child #2: 20 year-old girl needs warm flannel sheets (twin); would like small cat toys for her support animal Adult #3: 25 year-old male would like gas gift cards to help with is commute and spending time with his children Adult #4: 30 year-old male would like drawing and art supplies Parent/Guardian #1: Mom needs warm sheets (king) and gift cards for food; would like gas gift cards to give to a family friend who helps with driving the family to appointments as needed.
