AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL: Sandwich Post 188, Barnstable Post 206 Tied for 1st in East

HANOVER — The Barnstable Post 206 American Legion baseball team (14-6) dispatched Hanover Post 149, 12-1, Tuesday night on the road, and remained deadlocked with Sandwich Post 188 (14-5) for first place in the District 10 East Division as Post 188 downed Marshfield Post 88, 3-2.

Conor Walsh went the distance, struck out 10 batters and walked one while allowing two hits.

Drew Tardif and Jackson Badot both picked up three hits on the evening while Jake Gleason went 2-3. Chris Weber, Mike Knell and Gary DiSarcina Jr. each had RBI hits for Post 206.

Barnstable Post 206 is back in action tonight at Elizabeth Lowell Park in Cotuit against Brockton Post 35 and wraps up the regular season tomorrow night on the road against Whitman Post 22.

The District 10 playoffs begin Friday night and the seedings will be released late Thursday evening. The top eight teams in District 10 earn a trip to the playoffs. The winner of the playoffs advances to the Massachusetts State Championship tournament in Quincy next week.

Sandwich Post 188’s Joe Oriola got the win against Marshfield Post 88 last night in a tight, 3-2 ball game. Post 188 defeated Orleans Post 308, 7-0, Monday night.
