Caldwell and Green Ramp it Up in Mashpee Lax Win Over Rams

MASHPEE – In spite of bitter cold and persistent rain, the Mashpee High girls’ lacrosse team dominated in a 19-3 win over visiting Upper Cape Tech Friday afternoon.

The Lady Falcons are now 2-0 on the season while Upper Cape Tech drew the loss in its season opener.

Erica Caldwell and Zana Green poured in a combined eight goals (four apiece) and Caldwell tacked on pair of assists before Lady Falcons’ head coach Pat Ball emptied his bench. Tara Palermo netted a hat trick in the effort and Christina Ball and Katelyn Proverb each added two goals. Proverb also had an assist.

Upper Cape Tech’s Bella Oliver was the sole offensive threat for the Rams as she persisted through the very end of the rain-soaked affair, netting a hat trick for her efforts.

Other goals scorers for Mashpee included Jackie Lynch (one goal, two assists), Katryna Parvey, Sara Macrea and Rachael Bridges (goal, assist).

Coach Ball and his Lady Falcons are back in action on Monday when they face the Bourne Canalwomen.
