Cape League Report – July 14th, 2016

2 shut-outs and a blow out were three highlights from last night’s Cape League festivities.

The blowout featured Falmouth putting up a double digit score at home. The Commodores routed the Wareham Gatemen 12-3.

Harwich beat Chatham 4-0. Tyler Wilson of URI is credited with the win, and Peter Solomon is credited with the save. They combined for 7 strike outs, just one walk, and two hits in the Wednesday evening shut-out against the Anglers.

Y-D also had a shut out when they played Orleans. The Red Sox had 12 hits and their pitching staff combined for 8 strike outs and allowed just 4 hits. The final score was Y-D 4, Orleans 0.

Cotuit clocked another win, beating Brewster 5-2. That’s their third in a row. And it was Hyannis who edged out Bourne 5-4.
