Cape League Report – July 18th, 2016

Harwich lost their first game of the weekend, but bounced back and sizably beat their next two opponents. In their 11-0 shut out of the Firebirds on Saturday, 7 different players clocked hits. The Mariners kept the bats going last night, routing the Y-D Red Sox 12-4.

Cotuit is still 3 games behind Hyannis and are still in last place but their improvements aren’t going unnoticed. Although they dropped their 19th game last night to Falmouth, on Friday, the Kettleers beat the first-place Harwich Mariners 2-0.

Additionally, last night Bourne and Brewster tied at 6, Wareham edged out Orleans 2-1, and Hyannis got their first win since last Wednesday as they beat Chatham 11-9.

Tonight’s schedule is a bit shorter than usual, with just three games on the slate. The two at 6 are Cotuit @ Falmouth and Bourne @ Hyannis, and the Harwich Mariners play the Wareham Gatemen at 6:30.
