Cape League Report – June 30th, 2016

It was a slugfest in Brewster last night as the Whitecaps and Harbor Hawks combined for 23 runs. But the huge 8-run second inning for the Whitecaps was the difference maker as they ultimately defeated Hyannis 13-10.

Cotuit finally has another win as they beat Chatham 8-2. The Kettleers are still just 3-14. Falmouth bounced back from their loss and shut out Wareham 4-0 thanks to a few Gatemen errors in the field. Y-D collected their 8th win of the season when they played Bourne last night. The 4-1 victory leaves the Red Sox just one game under .500. And what seems to be a rarity this season, Harwich fell to Bourne 4-1 in their Wednesday evening contest. It was just the 5th loss for the Mariners in their first 17 games.

No games tonight as the league has another short hiatus but everyone is scheduled to return for the holiday weekend.
