NEW LONDON, NH – Once a champion, always a champion.
Colby-Sawyer College sophomore swimmer Meghan Mamlock, a former three-sport star at Barnstable High School (Class of ’13), helped set a new pool record at the Coby-Sawyer Diving & Swimming Invitational Saturday (Dec. 6), as her 400-yd. freestyle relay team finished in first place at 3:50.91. The relay team consisted of Mamlock, Elaine Miller of Windham, ME, Makenzie Welch of Torrington, CT and Krystyna Estrada of Lebanon, NH.
Mamlock, daughter of John and Lauren Mamlock of West Barnstable, helped lead Tom Turco’s Red Raider volleyball girls to three Div. 1 State Championships while she was also crowned a Bay Colony Conference champion in swimming. A Boston Globe All-Scholastic swimmer in high school, Mamlock was also the recipient of the Barnstable High School Iron Raider Award her senior year.
Mamlock also took second place in the 200 breaststroke (2:49.02) at last weekend’s invitational and Colby-Sawyer was crowned invitational champion with 442 total points. She also took third place in the 100 breastroke and 4th in the women’s 50-yard freestyle.
Gordon College, UMass-Dartmouth and Western New England University also competed in the invitational meet.
