Hardy Finishes Record-Setting Football Campaign for Bentley

WALTHAM – Bentley University sophomore linebacker Bryan Hardy (Barnstable/ Barnstable HS) was named the Defensive Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference following his outstanding performance in November 16’s season-ending win at Merrimack College.

NE-10 player this season. Twelve of his tackles were solo stops and he also had 3 tackles for losses, a forced fumble and a pass break-up.

Hardy finished his first season as a full-time starter with 103 tackles, the most by a Bentley player since Matt Zohoruiko was in on 123 during the 2009 campaign. He ranked fourth in the Northeast-10 with a 9.4 per game average, and was second on the team with 12 tackles for losses. His season also included an interception, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and 1.5 sacks.

Hardy captained the (11-1) 2012 Barnstable High School Red Raiders to a second-straight Old Colony League championship title and a berth in the DIv. 1A Super Bowl versus Everett High. He finished second on the team in tackles with 60 and recorded the most tackles individually during the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium with 15. He was an Old Colony League football all-star. He is the son of Chris and Donna Hardy of Barnstable.
