Clark University righty Conor Walsh turned in his second straight complete-game two-hitter, walked three and struck out five en route to the 6-1 finale.

Post 206 afforded Walsh all he would need in a three-run first inning, as JR DiSarcina led off with a one-out single, followed by a walk to Jake Gleason (2-3, 2 runs) and an RBI-single by shortstop Mike Knell (2-4, 3 runs, 2 RBI) to make it 1-0. Drew Gallant (1-1) then singled for the second run and Eric Holzman (3-3, 2 triples, 3 RBI) drove in the third run to make it 3-0 after one frame.

Holzman drove in Knell in the top of the fifth with two outs to make it 4-1 and then Knell hammered an RBI-triple in the top of the 7th and came home on Holzman’s second RBI-triple of the night. Post 206 catcher Andrew Williams added a clutch 2-2 performance at the plate. Centerfielder Drew Tardif, who plays for Massachusetts Maritime Academy, played spectacular defense in the victory, as did Holzman at first base.

Barnstable Post 206 heads to Pembroke Post 143 on Sunday for a 5:00 pm start.

In other American Legion action Friday night, Orleans Post 308 defeated Rockland Post 147, 4-3 in nine innings at Rockland Memorial Stadium and Wareham Post 220 edged Sandwich Post 188, 5-4, at Clem Spillane Field in Wareham. Hanover Post 149 defeated Kingston Post 387, 9-2… Hawkeye AC beat Marshfield Post 88, 6-2… and Plymouth Post 40 routed Pembroke Post 143 at Mattakeesett Field, 15-0 in five innings.
