WEYMOUTH — It would be well worth it to keep a set of eyes on these two and it’s not because they are troublemakers.
Unless, of course, you consider wrecking havoc on the wrestling mats as trouble.
Barnstable High wrestling team co-captains Charlie McWilliams and Owen Murray continued to take down opponents this weekend at the Weymouth Invitational Tournament, with both Red Raiders coming home with first place medals. Murray, the defending Division 1 South Sectional champion in the heavyweight division, remains undefeated on the season.
Barnstable came in 4th place out of the nine teams competing, with Plymouth South High School taking home first place honors.
Fellow Barnstable co-captain Donnie Mach took home second place for the second straight tournament in the 220-pound division.
A pair of Red Raiders took home bronze medals for third place finishes. Barnstable junior Casey Connor took third place in the 126-lb. division while Alex Lopes nabbed third place in the 170-lb. division.
Barnstable’s Mike Stanley took home 6th place in the 106-lb. class, followed by Vinny Ciliberto with 4th place in the 138-lb. division and Ben Potts in the 145-lb. division with a 6th place finish. Mike “The Bruiser” Bertucci took home 4th place in the 182-lb. Division.
McWilliams’ first-place finish was in the 152-lb. bracket while Murray continued his dominance in first place in the heavyweight bracket.
