The Red Raiders’ Emma Glover, who netted a hat trick, kept the hosts’ heads above water in the first half, however, as she attacked the middle early and often. Cape Cod Academy’s Rebekah Nicholas – who tallied four scores on the day – was equally prolific as the two teams went into the halftime intermission tied at 5-5.

Rogorzenski came right out at halftime and was running and gunning immediately: she needed just 1:13 into the second stanza to put the go-ahead score in net for a 6-5 lead that the hosts never relinquished. Another score 0:30 seconds later made it 7-5, Barnstable. By 19:39 of the second frame, Barnstable had poured in four successive goals for a 9-5 lead.

Cape Cod Academy’s Becca White – a spitfire in and around the net throughout the affair – tacked a hat trick on for the day’s effort, but it was not enough as Barnstable spread the wealth around in terms of scoring after Rogorzenski and Glover were done.

Barnstable’s Kylie Hallam scored two, and Claire Deely and Olivia Pearsall each had one.

Red Raider goalie Bridget Murphy played exceptionally well throughout the affair, making nine saves.

Barnstable is now 3-5 on the season while Cape Cod Academy dropped to .500 at 3-3. The Red Raiders next welcome the New Bedford Whalers on Wednesday at 4:00 pm in a non-league contest. Cape Cod Academy hits the road today to face a tough Falmouth Academy team at 4:00 pm.
