Sturgis West Girls Take Down CC Academy Seahawks

OSTERVILLE – If Sturgis West is came looking for a map to foreshadow the 2014-15 season, they may have found one in the team’s starting point guard.

Last season’s top scorer for the Navigators (1-0), the Navigators’ Rachel Gardner poured in a game-high 12 points Tuesday night at the Thomas Evans Gymnasium to pace the visiting Sturgis West Five to a season-opening, 36-29 win. The victory spoiled host Cape Cod Academy’s season home-opener and it was the first Cape & Islands League match-up for both teams. It was also the season-opener for Sturgis West.
