DENNIS – An apparent transformer explosion knocked out power to about 650 Eversource customers in Dennis sometime after 7 PM. Live wires came down and a fire started on the pole on South Yarmouth Road near Thoreau Drive. Motorists were urged to avoid the area. Line crews responded to repair the damage.
