9/17, 6PM, Great White Shark Update, CC Museum of Natural History – Dr. Greg Skomal, director of the Massachusetts Shark Research Program, will give us the latest results from his great white shark research. Dr. Skomal tracks more than 300 white sharks, and if you’re at all interested in the Cape’s shark population, this is a fascinating inside look into their world. Dr. Skomal is a great presenter too – funny, personable, and fun to listen to. Your ticket price includes wine and hors d’oeuvres, and benefits the Museum’s education programs. Purchase tickets here.

9/19, Cape Cod Canal Day, Buzzards Bay Park – One of the most anticipated events of the summer! Against the beautiful backdrop of the Cape Cod Canal, you’ll enjoy food trucks, vendors, live music, family activities, and a doggie costume parade! There’s a 5K road race to start the day, too. 9/19, 1PM, Sandwich PorchFest, Sandwich Village – Enjoy two dozen local performers playing on porches and lawns and in front of businesses throughout the Village – it’s like a free multi-artist concert you can enjoy as you stroll. 9/19 – 10 am to 5 pm – Paws for Joy: A Community Celebration to Benefit Amazing Grace of Cape Cod, on the grounds of Saint David Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth – Make time to join pet lovers, families, and neighbors for fun-filled, pet-oriented festivities that include ponies, pet prizes, demonstrations, music, food, gift basket raffles, silent auction, face-painting and games for all ages. Every dollar raised supports Amazing Grace of Cape Cod – an organization that provides a cost-free summer camp week and year-round activities for children affected by a family member’s incarceration. 9/19 & 9/20, 50th Harwich Cranberry and Music Fest, Harwich Community Center – Enjoy this milestone festival which will feature 150 artisan tents, along with amazing live performances both days (ENTRAIN will be there Saturday night), kids activities, dining trucks, and a drone show on Saturday night! 9/19, 8:30AM, Shape Our Food Future Conference, Falmouth High School – Windfall Market and Farming Falmouth are co-hosting this educational day meant to explore working solutions for rising costs and the challenges that local producers face. 9/20, 11AM, Rubber Duck Regatta, West Dennis Yacht Club – A fun family day with exhibitor tables, food for purchase, kids’ activities, and the highlight – the big rubber duck race, where 500 floating ducks will race to the finish line. Pick the right duck ahead of time and you could win a cash prize! Plus you can sponsor a duck to decorate and display before the race. 9/23, 4PM, Author Micah Bay Gault, West Falmouth Library – Meet author Miciah Bay Gault at West Falmouth Library on Wednesday, September 23 at 4p.m., for a talk and book signing of her spellbinding novel “The Nobody Code”, in partnership with Eight Cousins Bookstore. 9/25 – 9/27, Cape Cod Pottery Trail, Upper Cape – Get to know the potter’s community on the Upper Cape – over these three days you can take a self-guided tour of pottery studios in the area, with a chance to see the work of more than 30 potters at 18 different locations. If you’d like to meet the potters and get a “Pottery Passport” and map, there is a kickoff party on Friday at Brick Kiln Farm. 9/26, 3:30PM, The Lute: A 400th Anniversary Tribute to John Dowland, Performing Arts Center, Brewster – Come to an extraordinary lute lecture-performance by Paul O’Dette, Professor of Lute and Director of Early Music at the Eastman School of Music and Artistic Co-Director of the Boston Early Music Festival. This afternoon will focus on the music of John Dowland, English Renaissance composer, lutenist, and singer, and the 400th anniversary of his death in 1626. 9/26, 10/24, 11/21, 12/12, Boat America® Boating Safety Course – U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary – A new Massachusetts law is changing the way we boat. Under the Hanson–Milone Act, all Massachusetts motorboat operators must complete an approved boating safety course. Boaters born on or after January 1, 1989 must meet the requirement this year, while those born before that date have until April 1, 2028 to comply. The Nauset Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering the nationally recognized Boat America® Boating Safety Course, which meets the Massachusetts boating safety education requirement. Whether you’re a new boat owner or a seasoned skipper, Boat America® provides practical instruction in safe boat handling, navigation rules, required safety equipment, emergency procedures, and responsible boating. Classes are offered on September 26, October 24, November 21 and December 12 all held at the Orleans Police Department. The course fee is $45. You can register directly here. 9/26, 12PM, Cape Cod Doxie Day, Main Street, Barnstable Village (behind the courthouse) – Weiner dogs have their day during this annual celebration! All your favorite dachshund-themed events are back – including the Weenieton Waddle and Waggin’ Parade, the Doxie Dash, contests, prizes, and more. Free to attend – any proceeds raised during Doxie Day this year will benefit the Cape Cod Disaster Animal Response Team (CCDart) and Red’s Pet Pantry. Free and accessible for all. 9/26, 10AM, Cranberry Celebration Day, Heritage Museums and Gardens – The focus will be on our beloved regional berry, with live music, local food and drink vendors, hands-on kids’ activities, and craft making. Visit a real cranberry bog (on wheels!), explore artifacts from Heritage’s cranberry collection, and see recipes shared by cranberry sauce contest winners. 9/26, 10AM, Mid-Cape ComicCon, Hyannis Arts Hall, Willow Ave. – Back in February, a first-of-its-kind event was set to make its debut – the very first Mid Cape Comic Con. Weather didn’t cooperate, so the expo was postponed. Come celebrate this great corner of pop culture with two dozen comic and collectibles dealers from around the region – offering comics from all eras, vintage figures and collectibles including Star Wars, GI Joe, and Pokemon, and ask questions about your own collectibles. 10/3, 2PM, Witches On the Water 2026 Paddle for Family Table Collaborative, 80 Stage Harbor Road, Chatham – Calling all magical paddlers!! Come dressed in your finest Witch regalia (or whatever magical character you choose to be), bring your own SUP (or kayak or paddle boat or any other self-powered aquatic vehicle). This is not a race, just a fun floating parade! All paddlers must register to join us. $50 registration fee per each magical paddler. This amount supports the Witches in holding the event. Each registered participant is required to raise a minimum of $250 which will benefit Family Table Collaborative. This can be from yourself or by inspiring others to donate.
