FALMOUTH – State Police with the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office are investing what happened in an incident in which a man was found dead outside The Golden Swan, an Indian restaurant on Main Street in Falmouth.
District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said the man was an Indian national who was approximately 60 years old. He said the man’s name is not yet being released as next of kin are being notified.
Police were alerted to the incident at about 9 p.m. Thursday night. The state police assigned to the District Attorney’s office were called in on the case at about 9:30 p.m., O’Keefe said.
O’Keefe said an anonymous caller reported the man to police but police have identified the caller during the course of the investigation.
O’Keefe declined to give the cause of death. “We’re investigating the circumstances and the death,” he said, adding that an autopsy is being conducted.
The matter is under investigation by the state police and Falmouth police, he said.
O’Keefe said the man was at the restaurant, but he declined to say whether he was a customer or employee.
