New Board Members Added to Falmouth Historical Society Board

FALMOUTH – The Falmouth Historical Society has elected Mary Pat Barry, Megan Kehoe and Danielle Velesig as its three newest members of its Board of Directors.

Barry retired in 2006 after a 30-year career in Federal Service in Washington, DC, where she held a wide variety of positions at several agencies.

She has served as the Vice President and Membership Chair of MA Friends of Libraries, the President of the Falmouth Genealogical Society and the Vice President of the Friends of Falmouth Library. She has volunteered with Master Gardeners, the Falmouth Library Support Fund and Falmouth Reads. Barry received her B.A. Liberal Arts (Fine Arts) magna cum laude from Old Dominion University and her master’s degree in financial management from American University.

Kehoe is the Assistant Branch Manager of Cape Cod Five in Falmouth. She is a graduate of Falmouth High School and Cape Cod Community College and is involved with several local nonprofits, including Falmouth Village Association, Cape Cod Child Development, Housing Assistance Corp. and Junior Achievement.

Danielle Velesig is a Social Studies teacher and Co-Chairperson of the Advisory Committee at the Lawrence School in Falmouth. She is also the liaison teacher for the Inspired by Nature program with the Falmouth Historical Society.  Prior to this, she served as a teacher and administrator at the Rising Tide Charter Public School in Plymouth, MA, where she also coordinated the school’s National History Day program.

“Our new members bring a wealth of knowledge and talent to the Board,” said Executive Director Mark Schmidt.

“Each one is deeply invested in the community and committed to the historical society’s mission. We’re extremely fortunate to have them.”
