HYANNIS – Utility crews continued restoring electricity on Cape Cod after this week’s blast of wind and rain slammed the region.
About 14,000 Eversource customers on the Cape and Martha’s Vineyard were still without power late Friday afternoon. Company officials estimated full restoration to the region by 8 p.m. Saturday.
Crews from Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and Canada have been called in to help in the effort.
“Our employees and out-of-state crews are doing a tremendous job repairing extensive damage and restoring power on the heels of this widespread storm, and they remain focused on the remaining outages,” said Eversource Vice President of Electric Field Operations Doug Foley. “We know how tough it is for customers to be without power and we greatly appreciate their continued understanding.”
Power to customers in Greater Boston, New Bedford and Martha’s Vineyard was substantially restored overnight Thursday.
A full list of estimated times of restoration by town can be seen here. Eversource will continue moving crews to areas most heavily damaged by the storm.
