SANDWICH – At least one boat was destroyed by fire in Sandwich. The fire, which broke out sometime before 11 AM, involved a boat on dry land at 5 Settler’s Path. Heavy black smoke filled the sky as crews approached the scene. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and keep it from extending to a nearby shed. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
