Wellfleet is stocked to the brim with interesting sights to see, things to visit, places to shop, food to eat, and stuff to do whether you come at peak season or not. Here are some of our favorite things that you can only do Wellfleet.
Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail
Right near Marconi Beach, the impressive Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail offers a 1-1/2 mile nature trail that descends gradually in elevation into the swampy environment that hosts Atlantic white cedar and red maple trees. The walk along the wooden boardwalk provides a cross-section look at much of the Cape's upland vegetative communities. One former United States Interior Secretary liked the path so much, he gave it an award. Some sort of swamp trail award from what I understand. Highly competitive, no doubt.
