SANDWICH – National Grid’s gas main construction project in Sandwich remains on schedule.
A statement from the company said crews have already installed 70% of the gas main.
If weather conditions continue to cooperate, Phase 1 should be complete by the end of April, and Phase 2 by late summer.
Planting, loaming and hydroseeding will begin next week.
The entire project calls for the installation of a 20-inch gas transmission line for over 4.4 miles on the north side of Service Road between Route 130 and Chase Road.
It should be completed by the end of 2016.
Visual mitigation for neighbors near the project will begin later in the spring.
