MASHPEE – From Mashpee Police: On October 14, 2026, the Mashpee Police Department responded to an incident involving the possession of an airsoft replica firearm at the Mashpee-Middle High School.
Following consultation with the Superintendent of Schools and the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office, a 14-year-old juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Mashpee Police Department. The juvenile was subsequently released to the custody of his parents.
Based on the information available at this time, there is no ongoing threat and no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
The Mashpee Police Department remains in communication with the Superintendent of Schools and school administration as the investigation proceeds.
