Alcohol cited in car vs pole that miraculously led to only minor injuries in Orleans

Orleans Police/CWN

ORLEANSFrom Orleans Police: Overnight OPD Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street. When Officers arrived, they came upon the scene expecting the worse based on initial observations of the vehicle that had struck a utility pole almost splitting the vehicle in two.

Fresh on OPD Officers minds was that roughly 24hrs prior Harwich Police dealt with a fatal motor vehicle accident in their Town where a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a utility pole killing the sole occupant. HPD’s accident is still under investigation, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Investigation into our accident determined alcohol was a factor and the operator was arrested. Luckily the operator escaped without injury this time and was fortunate no passengers were in the vehicle, as there was no doubt this situation could’ve had a much worse outcome.

OPD wants to remind you, IT’S JUST NOT WORTH IT. Don’t drink and drive!!!
