Barnstable Kids Day Returns August 12 with Free Family Fun at Barnstable High School
HYANNIS — Families across Barnstable are invited to celebrate community, public safety, and summer fun during Barnstable Kids Day on Wednesday, August 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Barnstable High School.
Hosted by the Barnstable Police Department and the Town of Barnstable Fire Department, the free event is designed for children of all ages and offers an opportunity for families to meet the police officers, firefighters, and first responders who serve the community.
The day will feature a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations, including:
• Meet local police officers and firefighters
• K-9 and SWAT team demonstrations
• Opportunities to climb aboard fire trucks and police cruisers
• A bagpipe-led parade to kick off the festivities
• The Kids’ Police Academy beginning at 10 a.m.
Children and families will also enjoy complimentary refreshments, including free hot dogs, soda, and ice cream, along with giveaways, public safety displays, and interactive exhibits.
Organizers say the annual event is intended to strengthen relationships between first responders and the community while providing a fun and educational experience for local families.
Barnstable Kids Day will be held at Barnstable High School on Wednesday, August 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
