DENNIS — The Dennis Fire Department and Dennis Professional Firefighters Local 2583 welcomed members of Vets & Friends to Fire Station 2 on October 20th for the group’s monthly meeting, continuing a tradition of supporting local veterans.
The department said this was the second consecutive year it has hosted the group, providing a gathering space and a meal for veterans and others involved with the organization.
Several local individuals and businesses helped make the event possible by donating food and refreshments. The Veterans Lunchbox and Dennis Professional Firefighters Local 2583 provided lunch, while Brien Hines and the ice cream truck Matilda supplied dessert. Harbor Fox donated coffee and pastries.
In addition to providing lunch, The Veterans Lunchbox donated $1,000 to the Veterans Outreach Center to support its work assisting veterans.
The Dennis Fire Department expressed its appreciation to the donors and participants, thanking veterans for their service and sacrifice and emphasizing the importance of giving back to those who have served the country.
The department said it looks forward to continuing the tradition in the years ahead.
