From Truro Fire: At 5:01 AM Saturday morning, Truro Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 127 Slough Pond Road with Truro Police on scene reporting heavy fire to the structure. A request for a second alarm assignment was made due to the location of the fire and need for resources. An occupant of the building had reentered the structure prior to law enforcement arrival to retrieve a family pet. When Truro Police arrived, she again attempted reentry but was denied by Truro Police. Initial arriving Truro Fire units found the property fully engulfed. Water supply was difficult due to the extent of the fire and the geographic location. Mutual aid companies from as far as Mid-Cape responded helping to shuttle water and provide personnel. We are not aware of any injuries sustained by any of the crews involved.
