Large power outage hits Mid Cape

YARMOUTH – A large power outage hit the Mid Cape area around 4:45 a.m. Sunday morning. Over 1.500 Eversource customers were hit by the blackout. Most were in Yarmouth although parts of Barnstable were affected as well. Local police and fire responded to several alarms triggered by the power loss. The cause of the outage was not immediately clear but no reports of motor vehicle crashes had come in. Utility crews were working to restore service. Another smaller outage about the same time in Harwich was reportedly caused by a car vs pole crash on Queen Anne Road. No one was injured in the crash,
