NEW UPDATE: Homicide victim identified as investigation continues after victim found with gunshot wound to chest in Hyannis


HYANNIS
– Barnstable Police are investigating an overnight shooting. About 2:25 AM, officers spotted a man down near the intersection of Bearse’s Way and General Patton Drive. Upon closer examination they discovered the victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Hyannis Fire rushed the victim to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detective canvased the area looking for clues.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe told Cape Wide News the matter is being investigated as a homicide by Barnstable Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday, the D.A.s office identified the victim as Jermaine Taylor, 41, of East Falmouth.
