Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Yarmouth

– Yarmouth Police report that on Friday at 11:49 a.m. Patrol Officer Sean Geary stopped a white Chevy Malibu on Route 28 at Sibley Drive in West Yarmouth for failing to stop for a red light.

It was determined that the operator Deniqua L. Davis (above) had a learner’s permit and everybody else in the vehicle had suspended licenses.  The vehicle was also rented to an individual who was not in the car, and nobody else present was listed on the rental agreement.

A passenger Michael Jackson (right) was found to have a warrant and was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Yarmouth Police Department K9 Handler Patrol Officer Sean Gannon arrived on scene with his Drug Detection K9 Thor and all four individuals in the vehicle were searched.  During this search Deniqua Davis stated that she had some ‘Molly’ and some marijuana in her genital area. K9 Thor also indicated to the odor of narcotics on Davis in this area.

Davis was placed under arrest for possession of Class B ‘Molly’ and unlicensed operator of a motor vehicle.  At the YPD Headquarters she was searched further by Patrol Officer Melissa Alden.  During this search Davis pulled several glassine baggies from her genital area. Inside of the baggies were 10 different-sized bags of crack cocaine, half of a Percocet pill and marijuana.
