BOURNE – A construction crew struck what was reported to be a 4″ natural gas main by the under construction engineering building at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Bourne shortly before 2 PM Thursday. Fire officials evacuated the nearby area including Harrington Hall and the Library. National Grid was called to mitigate the situation. MMA announced that classes were canceled for the rest of the day.
