BOURNE – One person reportedly suffered burns to the face after a boat explosion and fire in Bourne late Saturday afternoon. Firefighters and rescuers rushed to the Monument Beach Marina on Emmons Road and called for a MedFlight helicopter to land at the Mass State Police barracks to fly the victim to a burn center. The Buzzards Bay Marine Task Force was activated as crews worked to extinguish the flames. The State Fire Marshal’s office was notified to investigate the cause of the explosion and fire.
